Edward Lee Lamoureux received a B.A. from CSU, Long Beach (Speech, 1975), an M.A. from WSU, Pullman (Speech Communication, 1980), & a Ph.D. from the U of Oregon, Eugene (Rhetoric and Communication, 1985). He came to Bradley (as Basic Speech Course Director, Department of Communication) in 1985.

For the Department of Communication, Ed taught: Theory and Literature of Rhetoric; Com. Analysis; Researching Com. in Culture; Rhetorical Perspectives in Organizational Com; Com. Law; Contemporary Sports Com. Challenges; Com. in Perspective; Fundamentals of Speech; Interpersonal Com.; Small Group Com.

For the MM Program & Department of IM, Ed taught: Intellectual Property Law and New Media; Theories, Concepts, and Practices in Interactive Media; Privacy in the Connected US; Introduction to Field Research in Virtual Worlds; Issues in IM: Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, NFTs.

For the CFA, Ed taught:
Entrepreneurial Mindset in CFA.

For the BU General Education Program Ed taught: Western Civ. to 1600.

Ed's research includes ethnography/field research, rhetoric, religious com., conversation, teaching and learning in virtual worlds, & non-linear writing.

His publications include books on IP law, privacy & surveillance, & numerous journal articles & book reviews (primarily about rhetoric & com.).

Ed's creative production includes audio production & web work as well as communication training via digital embellishments. Lamoureux was on the committee that established the Multimedia Program at Bradley, serving as Interim Director/Director of the Program for 3 years.

Lamoureux was the editor of the Journal of Communication and Religion (Religious Communication Association) for two consecutive 3 year terms, 1998-2003, & now serves on its Editorial Board.

A member of the President's Committee for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, founders of the Turner School of Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He taught the first online course at Bradley (by more than two years) & taught the first Bradley course(s ) in virtual worlds (as Professor Beliveau in Second Life).

Ed is a member of the Board of the Bix Beiderbecke Museum & Archive (Davenport, IL). Ed is a member of, & serves as the webmaster for, the Mid-Illinois Corvette Club, & is a member of the Illinois Valley Antique Automobile Club.

He is a singer/songwriter who sometimes appears at local venues. Ed is married (since 1981) to Cheryl. They have 4 adult children, Alexander, Samantha, Kate (partner Macon Borne), & Nicole (husband Lance Kelly) and 4 grandchildren (Warren, Fitz, Charlie Borne & Owen Edward Kelly).
