Come Back Blues (2008)

You gotta come back, you’re not beat till you quit.
You just gotta bounce back, this probably ain’t the worst of it.
When down seems up, and low looks high
when lost is here and good’s gone good-by.
You breath in deep and give it one more try.
You dig down and pull, yourself up—belt high.
Refuse to lose, cause it’s yours to win
you just gotta come back baby, no matter where you been.

It’s grit and grind, going out and down.
Feeling so far lost, you think you’ll never be found.
Always looking back, you won’t see the cost
Of missing out on today, with both feet on the ground.

So you breath in deep and give it one more try.
You dig down and pull, yourself up—belt high.
Refuse to lose, cause it’s yours to win
you just gotta come back baby, no matter where you been.
[for Alexander, our oldest, our son, through all times.]
